Leadership-on-the-Road caravans at SFPS and SCT


Providing ways to educate high school student leaders the values of servant leadership, the Young Leaders Alliance of Rizal continue to caravan its Leadership-on-the-Road (LOR) program in two private schools in Rizal, the San Francisco Parish School and Sienna College-Taytay.

Student leaders of the Supreme Student Government of SFPS had their first taste of servant leadership forum with John Paolo Manlincon (President of YLAR-Taytay Chapter) who advocate for Environmental concerns, Nizza Teodoro and Michael Legria alumni of YLAR 2010 who eradicate the value of being a team player in an organization during its Annual Officer’s Team Building Program on December 11, 2010.

Graduating elementary and high school students from different private schools in Rizal experienced the LOR program during the Festival of Learning at Sienna College-Taytay on February 19, 2011.

A lecture on the Basics of Leadership was discussed by YLAR Founding President Markharem Blanquisco. On his lecture, Blanquisco highlighted the values and principles of basics of leadership formation with structured learning experiences designed by the YLAR Leadership Academy team

YLAR Alumni facilitated the team building and small group discussions on the different facets of leadership.

Bernie Comia and Kaizen Blanquisco headed the discussion of competitive leadership in international arena and the power of Information and Communication Technology in terms of student leadership.

URS Got Talent finalist Cristopher Santos and Michael Legria discussed the passion in dancing and their experiences as volunteer teacher in the Heart Start Literary Program and Project Buklat: Story Caravan for the Street Children.

Chapter Presidents Ness Justine Albito (YLAR-Angono) and Randolph Pilapil (YLAR-Prof.Com) led the discussion of multiple advocacies on Project Fireflies and other YLAR services for the past 5 years. International Exchange students in the Philippines and Singapore Suzette Plegaria and Hazel Angelyn Tesoro shared their experiences as delegate in Sunburst Youth Camp and Asia-Pacific Student Leaders Conference.

Multi-awarded student writer and public speaker Eugene Ray Santos shared his experiences as the National Editor-in-Chief of THE LEADERS: The Official Publication of the National Rizal Youth Leadership Institute. YLAR fellows Rowell Mariano and John Paulo Manlincon headed the discussion on Project Hele and environmental awareness campaign of the organization.

A total of 74 student leaders in elementary and high school in the province benefited in the Leadership on the Road program of YLAR.

A lady of service, a woman of passion, an extra-ordinary girl of commitment.

Suzette served as one of the outstanding leader Young Leaders Alliance of Rizal has ever produced. From her excellent academic records to incomparable service and commitment to student works, anyone could wonder how she managed her time as a double full-time serving as student and a leader.

Zetty as what her colleagues called her was a graduating Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Sciences student in University of Rizal System. Expected to graduate with flying colors, this lady really work hard to attain the goal her friends and family dreamed for her.

She began her leadership journey as a junior officer in the Light Bringers Club, year after her service she was unanimously voted to serve as the president of the organization. Tasks maybe more than the usual for her as a leader, a lot of struggles brought out during her term but she never let that drawbacks fall her integrity and credibility as a leader as she continue to pursue the organizational goals and objectives of bringing the finest services for the students in the College of Education.

Her leadership track stand out in regional, national and international arena when she was first accepted as one of the Philippine representatives in the First World Creative Youth Forum way back in May 2008. In the year December 2009, she flew to Singapore as an International Exchange student in a Sunburst Youth Camp.

Year 2010 marked her notable accomplishment in terms of student leadership when she was accepted as one of the 80 best and brightest student in the Philippines branded as an Ayala Young Leaders. Before the year end, the Order of the Knights of Rizal recognized her as one of the 17 Jose Rizal Model Students of the Philippines

Out of these achievements, Zetty keeps her feet on the ground at all times. Serving as an inspiration to her co-leaders in the university, she now shared her leadership stories by serving as a volunteer teacher in the Heart Start Literacy Program and as speaker in various leadership trainings and seminars conducted inside and outside the Province of Rizal.

YLARB hails as UGT Grand Champions

Newly accredited chapter, YLAR-Binangonan was hailed as the URS Got Talent over-all champion in the recently conducted URS Got Talent: More than the Usual Showdown held at Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Tanghalang Sining, URS-Morong Campus, Morong, Rizal.

Ehm Espinola: Ang Rizal’s Nightingale ng URS-Binangonan served as the Grand Champion after pleasing all the caliber panel of judges singing her winning piece, “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.” Aside from the grand Champion Title, Ehm also won the Texter’s Choice and Crowd’s Favorite special awards. Bringing home bacon of success, YLAR-Binangonan’s Einstein Crew Dance Company tagged as the Dance Floor Heartthrobs ng URS-Binangonan won as the UGT2011 1st runner-up and the Facebook Choice Special award.

Meanwhile, YLAR-Morong wildcard Michael Legria also known as Shammy: Ang Bombshell Sexy Hot Groover ng URS-Morong was hailed as UGT2011 2nd Runner-up. Elok: Ang Beat Box Idol ng URS-Pililla placed 3rd runner-up while Bamba: Ang Belly Dancing Babe ng URS-Morong and Sister Power: Duos Cantes ng URS-Cainta landed 4th and 5th runner-up respectively.

YLAR-Binangonan prides will performed will performed as the Calla Lilly’s Concert for a Cause in benefit of the Bahay Aurora Foundation on May 7, 2011 at Savemore Supermarket Open Ground in Morong, Rizal.

Served as panel of judges were ABS-CBN’s Pilipinas Got Talent Research and Contestant Coordinator Nory Espejo, Red Ribbon Cakes Manager Darwin Ramboa, One Time Bottomliner at Boy Abunda’s BOTTOMLINE Richardson Mojica, Office of Student Development Services Director Nancy Pascual and Freelance Talent Scout Shiela Muescan.
