YLAR Echoes YES and WCYF

Young Leaders Alliance of Rizal-Morong handles Back to Back Leadership Fora: 1st World Creative Youth Forum and 7th Youth Environment Summer Camp Echo Seminar last August 4, 2009 through the Office of Development Services at the Audio- Visual Educational Center of URS- Morong from 8:00am to 1:00pm.

The said event aimed to share the learning from WCYF and YES Camp. Student leaders from URS Morong and Angono participated in the activity.

After the usual preliminaries of a program, Dr. Reneecilla B. Paz de Leon, Chancellor of Cluster II, welcomed the participants and speakers. It was followed by an inspirational message from the director of OSDS, Dr. Nancy Pascual.

YLAR invited Prof. Marcelito Mangaoang of Pamantasan ng Rodriguez as the first speaker that tackled the Ethical Living and Youth Empowerment. He is the Youth Ambassador, Country Representative of the Philippines and a delegate of the 1st WCYF last May 5- 10, 2009 at Quezon City. He quoted the words from the forum,
“If we are to strive for a harmonious and peaceful world, then, education in school is the key starting with young fresh minds.”

Mrs. Noemita Albito, master teacher II from Teresa Elementary School and the adviser of Teresa delegation in Baguio City last April 26- 30 for YES Camp was the second guest speaker. She discussed her topic, “Ang Puno ay Buhay” and according to her,
“Nang isilang ang tao, may daigdig na tirahan, pangalagaan mo dahil itp’y hiram lamang sa Kanya.”


Immediately after the discussion and awarding of certificates and tokens for the guest speakers, a WCYF talkshow followed. “Show ko ‘to, Paki alam mo!”, is about the struggles, extraordinary experiences and different kind of gainings during WCYF ’09. The delegate Suzette Plegaria and volunteers Ness Justine Albito, Arvee Mapula, and Mark Jezreel Blanquisco acted as celebrity guests while Peter Salvio, also a volunteer, as the host.

Then, a participant’s testimony was given by John Albert Rico for being the only delegate of the university in the YES Camp. The seminar ended by a closing remarks from the adviser of YLAM, Prof. Markharem Blanquisco. Arjane Consul and Eljon Cervo served as the masters of ceremony.
